In-our-own-words

In Our Own Words is a new report from the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People (GAROP) in which older people talk about the ageism, discrimination and denial of human rights that they are subjected to in their everyday life.

In the report older people talk about how they are being discriminated against, the effect this has on their lives, why they think this is happening and what rights they are being denied. Their words are powerful and often disturbing.

The report is a significant contribution to the debate on a new convention, ensuring that the voices of older people from 50 countries around the world are part of that debate.
