Alleviating old-age proverty in ageing Malaysia
18 February @ 8:30 am - 3:00 pm
Date: 18 February 2020
Hosted by the Institute of Strategic & International Studies (ISIS) Malaysia, this discussion will seek to examine the following:
- Healthier ageing and increased life expectancy allow us to work longer. In practice, there are many firms which continue to hire employees past their retirement age but this is usually not the case for those who need employment the most. How do we shape re-employment policies to be more targeted towards more vulnerable groups?
- Should we establish parameters on re-employment policies and what steps can be taken to encourage age-friendly work environments?
- How do we extend work-related protection schemes for mature employees?
- How do we disassociate productivity from retirement age?
