DESCRIPTION:International Conference on Social Protection and ASEM 2016: Achieving Social Security for All in Asia and Europe\nDate: 5-6 July 2016\nLocation: Ulaanbaatar\, Mongolia \n \nThe International Conference on Social Protection and ASEM 2016: Achieving Social Security for All in Asia and Europe will be organised during the Asia-Europe People’s Forum (AEPF 11) in Mongolia 2016. \nThis international conference on social protection aims for the achievement of better social security for all people in Asia and Europe. Experiences from the global coalition for social protection floors and from the Mongolian national dialogue will be shared. Two panels in regional and sectoral case studies will be organised. DESCRIPTION:Regional Expert Forum on Population Ageing\nDate: 12 – 13 Jul 2016\nLocation: Bangkok\, Thailand \n \nThe Regional Expert Forum on Population Ageing will be held on 12-13 July 2016 in the United Nations Conference Center\, Bangkok. It is expected to be attended by Government focal points on population ageing\, policy-makers\, development practitioners\, independent experts\, and civil society experts working in the area of population ageing. \nThe objectives of the Forum are as follows: \n(1) To review and share good practices in addressing the long-term care needs of older persons in the region and consider policies to formulate a comprehensive framework for long-term care of older persons in the region; \n(2) To increase awareness on the key challenges and opportunities for effectively addressing population ageing and promoting the rights of older persons in the Asia- Pacific region in the context of the forthcoming Third Regional Review of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing; \n(3) To agree on a strategy to assess progress at regional and country level on the implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA)\, including proposing concrete follow-up actions within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConcept note and tentative programme can be found on UNESCAP webpage.
