Realising the rapid increase of older population and understanding the impact of long-term and palliative care on the health system, HelpAge India carried out a home care pilot project in three locations of India (Shimla, Leh and Cuddalore) to address the issues of the bed-bound, immobile and assisted older people.
The report ‘Homecare for the elderly in India’ provides evidence on home-based care model and impacts on the life of older people and their family, as well as recommendations to be taken up within the current public health system in India.
