The work of HelpAge International in the East Asia and the Pacific region is centred around several key themes. Thematic groupings help us to investigate and share best practice regionally and beyond, and to build and strengthen networks of people working on similar issues.
In this section, we provide an overview of ageing in the East Asia region and look at the following themes:
- Care
- Community based organisations, such as older people’s associations (OPAs)
- Emergencies and preparedness
- Government policies on ageing
- Health, and
- Social pensions
