Deputy Prime Minister, Vu Duc Dam, has asked ministries and sectors to work harder to improve the implementation of the Vietnam Law on the Elderly. Collaboration among sectors is needed to achieve the 2012-2020 National Action Plan on the Elderly, he said.
He assigned the Vietnam Association of the Elderly (VAE) to work closely with authorities on developing funds supporting older people, and encouraged the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its network to participate in programmes on care for older people.
Since the Law on the Elderly was enacted, positive results have been seen in the increased number of healthcare programmes for older people nationwide.
